Do you use Library2Go to check out eBooks from the Washington County Cooperative Library Services? There are going to be big changes coming on Monday, March 11 (the tentative target date) that are aimed at improving and simplifying the way that Library2Go works.
The new platform is browser-based, which should do away with the requirement that eBook readers download Adobe Digital Editions / sign up for an Adobe ID or use the standalone Media Console software or app. Fortunately, Adobe options will still be available for people who are unable to use the browser platform.
We were offered an advance look at the new interface via a test site, and I will say that I think the changes are for the better. In addition to no longer requiring outside software to retrieve the eBooks, I find that the searching interface is much improved.
This preview video (2:23 long) from Overdrive gives a good look at the highlights of the new Library2Go - http://www.overdrive.com/Next-Gen/library/. There's also a good user-centric FAQ here.
