Beaverton Community Vision

Do you know the best things about working with middle schoolers and high schoolers? They are at a place in life where they are learning and exploring the limits of themselves, their identities, their community, and the world! Research shows that this is the age in which they also begin to develop abstract reasoning, engage with ideas of fairness and social justice, and explore personal ideology. (Visit the NMSA for more details!)

Because of these developmental characteristics, this is a great time for teens to begin civic engagement. The City of Beaverton has the fantastic Community Vision project underway, which explores the many ways that our town can grow and change to become even better than it is. All citizens are invited to provide feedback in this survey. Encourage your students to take a look and make their voices heard!
