Zombies: Say it in 6

Hello,

By now, Beaverton teachers should have recieved advanced copies of entry forms for the BCL Teen writing contest starting in October, which we are calling "Zombies: Say it in 6." If you did not recieve them, please email me or Ian and we will send you hard copies and/or a PDF. The entry form will also be available on our website starting October 1st. We are really excited about this contest - it asks teens (grades 6-12) to write a complete zombie story using only 6 lines of dialog.

We have had a couple of clarification questions so far about how much non-dialogue can be included in the story, so I thought others might be wondering as well. The real challenge of the contest is to move a story forward using dialog rather than description, so when the judges review entries, that is what they'll be considering. That said, it is perfectly acceptable to use some non-dialogue text like "said the zombie" or similar. Please don't hesitate to let us know if you have any questions or need entry forms.

Thanks and have a great day!
Dawn
