Concrete Poetry Contest starts NOW

With April comes (well, more showers) and our annual Teen Poetry Contest. This year, the form is concrete poetry, where the arrangement of the words in each poem indicates the poem's meaning. We're excited to see what teens will come up with for this contest - the format can be simple and remeniscent of elementary school, but it can also be quite complex and clever. Flyers are being sent to each English/Language Arts class this week, details and entry forms are also on our website. Please let us know if you have any questions about the contest or if you would like us to send you more flyers!

The Beaverton Library Foundation is generously sponsoring this contest. There are two divisions: Middle School (grades 6-8) and High School (grades 9-12), winners in each division will be awarded the following cash prizes:
1st place - $100
2nd place - $50
3rd place - $25
