This Monday, October 20th, is our monthly Pizza & Pages Book Club! We meet at the library on the third Monday of every month, from 5:00-6:00pm.... and we have the two things every teen and 'tween need: great books and free pizza.
All that students need to do is to come prepared to discuss a book they recently read. This means that there is no pre-assigned book or questions -- they just have the chance to rave (or rant) about whatever books are on their minds! Students also get to hear about what other teens have been reading, and to find out what's hot and what's not on our young adult bookshelves. Did I mention the fact that we'll be eating pizza while we talk about our recent literary endeavors?
If I have learned one thing while being a young adult librarian, it may be this: if you offer free pizza, they will come. (You were hoping for a more profound epiphany, weren't you?)
