The Young Adult Division is thrilled to announce that... drumroll, please!... author David Michael Slater will be launching his new teen book series at the Beaverton City Library. The Book of Nonsense, the first book in the Sacred Books quintet, focuses on the adventures Daphna and Dexter, fraternal twins from Hillsdale who couldn't be more different. When their father, a rare book collector, falls prey to strange behavior, they must come together to save him... and themselves. Turning 13 has never been so dangerous.
Needless to say, this is a great book for hooking your reluctant reader! Recommend this book to students who like a clever mystery, such as The Mysterious Benedict Society, or need a plot that is dark and action-packed, like The Alchemyst.
