It looks like the Portland-metro area is facing one insanely cold, icy week. (Take a peek at all of the storm warnings NOAA is broadcasting!) In anticipation of this, the City of Beaverton has decided that the library will close this week at 6:00 p.m. on Monday-Thursday evenings and 5:00 p.m. on Friday evening.
Today I saw a lot of students in the YA Room all day long, and the rest of the library was pretty busy up until sunset. Even in cold weather -- or perhaps even more so! -- the library is an important refuge and resource for the community at large. We will do all that we can to remain open to the public everyday. If we have to close, we will post a notice on the Beaverton City Library website... so stay tuned!
