Portland National College Fair

Applying to college is overwhelming. All of the requirements -- essays, letters of recommendation, SAT/ACT scores, etc. -- combined with all of the costs -- application fees, SAT/ACT costs, etc. -- add up to exhausting junior and senior years in high school. That's why it is worth it for students to know what schools they are truly interested in attending and what those schools have to offer!

The Portland National College Fair is coming to the Oregon Convention Center on Sunday, Oct. 25th, (1:00-5:00 p.m.) and Monday, Oct. 26th (9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.). Parents and students of all ages are invited to chat with college representatives from around the country. Julia S., the Publicity Chair for this year's fair, let us know that:

"Attendees will have access to representatives from more than 250 colleges nationwide, as well as from the Oregon Student Assistance Commission, The College Board, and the ACT. They can attend presentations about the application process, financial aid, applying for scholarships, and writing application essays."

The best thing of all is that it's free; the facilitators simply request that attendees bring donation for the Oregon Food Bank. What a fantastic opportunity! Pass the word along. :)
