Rick Riordan visits Beaverton

There are a few select series that elicit passionate readership from teen boys and girls alike... and the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series is one of them! That's why we're thrilled to hear that author Rick Riordan is following up the 5-book series with a new Heroes of Olympus series set at Camp Halfblood, complete with the goofy humor, ancient mythology, and teen demigod heroes saving the world that we've come to love. The first book, The Lost Hero, will hit shelves on Tuesday, October 12th.

Mr. Riordan will be in Beaverton at the Powell's at Cedar Hills Crossing on Tuesday, October 19th, at 6:00 p.m. to sign books new and old! This book signing does not include a presentation, but it is a chance for his enthusiastic fans to meet the author himself and get a signature in their favorite Camp Halfblood book. Folks can stop by as early as 2:00 p.m. to pick up a ticket for the book signing line. For more details, contact Powell's directly.

What a great opportunity to keep students excited about reading!
