Beaverton's 9th Annual Human Rights Creative Expression Contest

The City of Beaverton will begin taking entries for its 9th Annual Human Rights Creative Expression Contest on Sunday, January 20, 2013. As in previous years, the contest challenges Beaverton students in grades K through 12 (public and private) to represent the importance of human rights creatively. Entries can be in the form of essay, poem, spoken word, song, music, poster, drawing, collage, clay, craft, film, dance, or any combination. The deadline for entries is 5 p.m. on Thursday, February 28 at Beaverton City Hall. Entrants can work alone or in groups; top winners will receive a $50 Powell's giftcard, and there are $25 giftcards for the runners-up! Entries are also displayed in a binder in the Teen Room here at the library. Please encourage any interested students to participate!
