The BCL's Food for Fines & Fine Amnesty - Saturday, April 12 - Sunday, April 20

The Beaverton City Library is once again offering a Food for Fines and fine amnesty program starting next Saturday, April 12 until Sunday, April 20. This can be done at both the main library and the Murray-Scholls Branch!

-Patrons can bring non-perishable food items, which will then be donated to the Oregon Food Bank.
-For every food item brought in, $2 in fines will be deducted from their account, with a maximum of $20 deducted per library account. Each item equals $2 of fine amnesty, regardless of the original cost of the item!

We're also offering patrons the opportunity to have fines forgiven for bringing back library items which have been billed to them.

  • Patrons returning billed items (in good condition) will have the cost of the item, processing, and overdue fines waived!
  • Collection agency fees cannot be waived.
  • Even items that have been deleted from the catalog can be returned for a waiver. If an item has been deleted but belongs to another library, the replacement costs cannot be waived, but fines still can.
